Morocco Internships

I completed a journalism internship in Rabat, Morocco over the summer, and it was a truly rewarding experience. I gained valuable skills and insights from the placement, and the support I received throughout was excellent. The contacts at Intern Abroad HQ were fantastic, the local team was incredibly helpful, and the staff at my placement were outstanding. I would highly recommend this program to anyone considering applying an internship with this company promises to be a truly enriching experience.

What I enjoyed the most during this internship were the people I met and the personal connections that formed outside of the work itself. Those moments made my time abroad feel meaningful on a human level, not just a professional one. In terms of personal and professional development, the internship helped me in a more subtle way. It showed me that I am capable of stepping out of my comfort zone, living in another country, adapting to a new environment, and taking responsibility for my work. I went there, I worked, I contributed, and I handled everything on my own. That experience stays with me. It gives me confidence and something real to look back on.

I know this experience will matter for the future. It taught me resilience, independence, and the ability to navigate cultural differences - all skills that will stay with me personally and professionally. And most of all, it made me want to keep exploring the world and live experiences that feel true and meaningful.

My internship was a truly transformative experience that significantly contributed to both my personal and professional development. I had the opportunity to observe and assist in a fast-paced, resource-limited healthcare setting, which sharpened my clinical judgment, adaptability, and problem-solving skills. I learned to navigate language barriers, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and approach patient care with greater cultural sensitivity and empathy. Observing how Moroccan healthcare professionals delivered compassionate care, often under challenging circumstances, deepened my commitment to medicine and global health.

Immersing myself in Moroccan culture with its hospitality, traditions, and rich history broadened my worldview and taught me the value of open-mindedness and humility. Traveling across the country allowed me to appreciate the beauty of diversity and resilience in everyday life. The friendships I built and the stories I encountered helped me grow as a more reflective and culturally aware individual. This experience not only strengthened my sense of purpose in the medical field but also enriched my character in ways that will stay with me throughout my life and career. in addition to broadening and jumping out of my comfort zone and exploring new places, foods and activities.

My internship in Morocco as a student nurse was an incredibly enriching and eye-opening experience. Observing the different aspects of healthcare delivery gave me a deeper understanding of the unique roles and contributions of each professional within a hospital setting, as well as the vital support they provide to patients. This allowed me to see the bigger picture of what it means to work in healthcare abroad, and it inspired me to pursue similar opportunities in the coming years.

I developed a wide range of professional and personal skills that strengthened my confidence as a future nurse. Clinically, I enhanced my ability to adapt to different healthcare systems and practices, gaining a broader perspective on patient care in a multicultural setting. I improved my communication skills by engaging with patients and colleagues across language and cultural barriers, learning to build rapport with empathy and respect. Additionally, I developed resilience, flexibility, and problem-solving abilities while navigating a new environment and adapting to different ways of working.

I thoroughly enjoyed traveling to different cities across Morocco, exploring its stunning landscapes, and immersing myself in the vibrant culture. Experiencing Moroccan traditions, connecting with people from diverse backgrounds, and enjoying the delicious local cuisine made my time there truly memorable. This experience not only enhanced my professional knowledge but also enabled me to grow personally, strengthening my desire to embrace new challenges and cultures in the future.
