Intern Abroad: Program Fees
Intern Abroad HQ offers over 120 overseas internship options across over 24 diverse career fields, enabling you to intern in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Pacific, Central America or South America. Program Fees vary by location and duration. Since Program Fees include accommodation (as well as meals for selected destinations), the cost varies by location and duration.
It’s free to apply for an internship abroad. Once we have reviewed your suitability and accepted you onto your program, you’ll need to pay a deposit of US$449 to confirm your place. The remaining balance of your Program Fee (less your initial US$449 deposit payment) will be due no less than 60 days before your scheduled start date.
It is important to note that internships in Athens do not include meals and interns should budget to cover this Independently. Kitchen facilities are provided in all accommodation for independent meal preparation. Internships in Greece are provided through an organization which is accredited to run projects under Erasmus+. European students are encouraged to speak with their local Erasmus office regarding funding and grant opportunities for their internship.

It is important to note that internships in Rome include mandatory Italian language lessons, which are taken in conjunction with the internship program. Beginners to the Italian language must commit to a minimum duration of at least 8 weeks, which includes a 4-week introductory Italian language course and the remaining weeks in a full time internship placement. Intermediate Italian speakers (B1 or B2 or higher) must commit to a minimum duration of 6 weeks, which includes a 2-week Italian language course and the remaining weeks in a full time internship placement.
It is important to note that internships in Tokyo do not include meals. Standard shared living accommodation (which is included in the Program Fee) provides kitchen facilities where interns are welcome to prepare their own meals and snacks.
It is important to note that internships in Auckland do not include meals and interns should budget to cover this Independently. Kitchen facilities are provided in all accommodation for independent meal preparation. A NZ$700 accommodation security deposit must be paid in-country but this is fully refundable, subject to inspection of the accommodation upon departure and confirmation that there have been no damages.
Please note: The medical internship programs (Physician’s Assistant, Dentistry, Midwifery, Psychology and Physiotherapy) have an extra surcharge of US$15 per week, for extra supervision, materials and logistics involved. This amount will be included in the Program Fee quoted to you when you apply.
Please note that program fees for all South Africa Environmental internships include return transportation to the airport. This transportation service is scheduled on specific dates and times. To ensure the schedule works for you, check with your Internships Manager for details before booking your departure flights.
It is important to note that Medical and Education internship fees in Tanzania do not include Ministry of Health contributions / placement donations. These vary depending on the placement and length of the internship and must be contributed in-country. For more details, contact your Program Manager.
Medical Internship fees in Zanzibar include Ministry of Health contributions / placement donations, but do not include the exemption certificate which is payable in-country directly to the hospital.
