The Social Science International Internship Scholarship is open to anyone of any nationality who is over the age of 18 with a passion for supporting others through the social sciences field. You need to come with a willingness to learn and get out of your comfort zone, while being immersed in a new country and culture alongside other international interns.

• Be at least 18 years old
• Have a career interest in Education, Law and Human Rights, Psychology, and/or Social Work
• Have a desire to immerse yourself in a different culture
• Be willing to share photos and feedback about your experience with the Intern Abroad HQ team

Applications for the scholarship close at midnight on October 31, 2023 (PST).

The scholarship recipient will be able to intern remotely or abroad in any of the 14 countries in which Intern Abroad HQ offers Social Science internship programs.

If you are the scholarship recipient, you can use your funds on a remote or abroad internship on any date between October 2023 and October 2024.

If you know you want to become a social science intern but aren’t sure where or when you’d like to intern yet, you can still apply for the scholarship. If you are selected as a finalist, the Intern Abroad HQ team will be happy to assist you in selecting a destination that’s the best fit for you.

If you’re a student participating in an Intern Abroad HQ internship, you can obtain an academic credit transcript through Intern Abroad HQ’s School of Record program. We offer variable credits to accommodate diverse durations of study. These credits may be applied worldwide.

Yes! We recommend securing your place by paying your deposit to ensure you don’t miss out on your first choice internship program and start date. If you are the scholarship recipient, your deposit will be refunded to you.

Please read the Terms and Conditions of Intern Abroad HQs’ Social Science International Internship Scholarship carefully before entering. By entering, you certify that you agree to the following Terms and Conditions:

1. These terms and conditions relate to the “Social Science International Internship Scholarship” promotion (“Promotion”) operated by Intern Abroad HQ Limited, 99 Devon Street West, New Plymouth, New Zealand (“Intern Abroad HQ”).
2. Information on the prize and how to enter form part of these conditions of entry. By entering this promotion, you agree to be bound by these conditions of entry and all decisions of Intern Abroad HQ which are final in all matters relating to the Promotion.
3. Intern Abroad HQ reserves the right to change these conditions of entry without prior notice. All dates are subject to change if necessary at Intern Abroad HQ’s discretion. Any changes to these conditions of entry will be published on the Intern Abroad HQ website at www.internhq.com.
4. Employees of Intern Abroad HQ, International Volunteer HQ and their subsidiaries and affiliated companies, and members of their immediate families or households, are ineligible to enter this Promotion.
5. The Promotion commences at 12:00am (EST) August 30, 2023 and closes at 11:59pm October 31, 2023 (“Promotional Period”). Entries received outside of the Promotional Period will not be accepted.
6. The rules of the Promotion and how to enter are as follows:
   
   1. All entrants into the Promotion must:
      
      1. Be 18 years of age or older
      2. Hold a valid passport with at least 6 months validity at the date of travel
      3. Meet the requirements to intern with Intern Abroad HQ regarding a clean criminal record
   2. The Promotion is open to anyone worldwide who meets the requirements in clause 6(a).
   3. To enter the Promotion, entrants must complete the application form on https://www.internhq.com/social-sciences-internship-scholarship website landing page during the Promotional Period.
   4. Intern Abroad HQ will holistically evaluate the applications and select a recipient from all valid entries on November 15, 2023.
   5. The scholarship recipient will be notified by email within 28 days of the end of the Promotional Period. If the recipient cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 7 days of notification, Intern Abroad HQ reserves the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
   6. Upon accepting the prize, the recipient’s name will be published on Intern Abroad HQ’s social media channels. By registering you consent to have your name shared if you are selected as the recipient of the Promotion and accept the prize.
   7. Intern Abroad HQ reserves the right to cancel or modify the Promotion if it considers, in its sole discretion, the administration of the Promotion is impaired for technical or other reasons beyond its reasonable control and, in such an event, may select the winner from all valid entries received prior to the impairment.
7. The Prize is as follows:
   
   1. $1,000 USD Intern Abroad HQ credit (“IAHQ Credit”) which can be used towards the Intern Abroad HQ Registration Deposit and Program Fees.
8. Prize conditions:
   
   1. The IAHQ Credit may only be put towards the Registration Deposit and Program Fees to participate in the Intern Abroad HQ Internship of the recipient’s choice.
   2. If the recipient chooses an internship program that exceeds $1,000 USD, it is the responsibility of the prize recipient to pay the remaining balance.
   3. The prize recipient must travel and begin their Intern Abroad HQ Internship within 12 months of the end of the Promotional Period. If the recipient is, for whatever reason, unable to confirm the booking by this date, whether the failure was due to reasons beyond the recipient’s control or otherwise, then the recipient will forfeit the prize.
   4. The IAHQ Credit cannot be refunded, transferred, gifted, substituted or redeemed for cash.
   5. Acceptance of the prize constitutes permission for Intern Abroad HQ to use the Promotion recipient’s name, likeness, and entry for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.
9. The winner of this Promotion must also:
   
   1. Submit photos, videos, feedback and blog content from their internship (within 4 weeks of completing the program) to be shared on Intern Abroad HQ’s website and social media channels, subject to Intern Abroad HQ’s review.
   2. Ensure all content shared with external networks and social media platforms is aligned with guidelines provided by Intern Abroad HQ prior to the recipient’s internship.

General terms:

1. The recipient will be responsible for covering all other costs associated with traveling to and from the Intern Abroad HQ Internship, including but not limited to flights, travel insurance, visas, vaccinations, criminal background check and spending money.

2. The Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or Twitter.

3. Please refer to Intern Abroad HQ’s Privacy Policy for information about how Intern Abroad HQ collects, uses and discloses your information.

4. All entrants into the Promotion and the recipient are also subject to the Intern Abroad HQ Terms and Conditions of Service.

5. The Promotion and these conditions of entry are governed, construed and interpreted under the laws of New Zealand.
