At Intern Abroad HQ, we place diversity at the heart of our business because we believe that people of all backgrounds and nationalities should be able to access international internships.
That’s why we work hard to ensure our internships remain accessible to those from underrepresented or discriminated communities such as BIPOC and LGBTQ+, those with disabilities, those who can’t take time off from work or family support obligations, and those with limited financial resources.
In just the last 12 months, we’ve hosted interns of 72 different nationalities who live in 64 countries around the world. This diversity provides a deeper and richer learning experience, which helps nurture the cultural awareness, emotional intelligence and initiative that is needed to succeed in the modern workforce.

1. Broad and inclusive range of internship programs
So that our programs remain accessible to as many interns as possible, we offer a diverse range of internships to suit people with different interests, goals, and commitments.
Our portfolio of 280+ internship programs across 24 countries and a wide range of career fields allows interns to find exactly the right learning experience. We customize our placements to each individual intern, based on their experience, interests, chosen duration, and academic requirements.
We also provide flexibility, with options to intern remotely or abroad from 2 weeks to 6 months, and you can join our remote internships part-time. This ensures that those with other commitments at home, such as studying, working, or caring for family, can still participate.
LGBTQ+ friendly internships
Over 90% of our 280+ internship programs are LGBTQ+ friendly. Unfortunately, a few countries where we run internship programs still hold cultural views, religious influences, or laws that are not tolerant or safe for the LGBTQ+ community.
Interning with a disability
A key goal of our remote internships is to make global internships more accessible to those with mobility disabilities and physical constraints. All 68 of our online internship programs are suitable for those with disabilities. We also have a range of internship abroad programs that are specifically adapted to host interns with mobility disabilities, including wheelchair users.

We have relationships with hundreds of innovative host organizations across 24 countries worldwide, including Europe, Latin America, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and the Pacific.
Unlike other internship providers who only work with large corporations, we collaborate with nimble, entrepreneurial organizations, both large and small, who are innovating in their industries. This allows us to provide you with a more diverse range of exciting, creative, and high impact placement opportunities.
When matching you with a host organization, we prioritize placements that operate ethically and champion diversity through:

- Employ local people, supporting employment in the local community
- Paying a fair living wage to all their staff
- Integrating and supporting interns within their teams
- Ensuring the workplace is an inclusive environment
3. Accessible fees that are affordable to interns from a range of backgrounds and nationalities
Our fully hosted intern abroad programs start from only $1094 (approximately 1094) for 2 weeks. This is more affordable than your average vacation and covers sourcing and customizing your internship placement, plus airport pick-up, local orientation, accommodation, meals*, and 24/7 in-country support. Our remote internships start from just $1099 (approximately 1099) for 3 weeks full time or 5 weeks part time.
These fees are much lower than other intern abroad providers and makes our internships more accessible to participants from a diverse range of countries around the world. In the last 12 months, Intern Abroad HQ has hosted interns of 72 different nationalities on our programs, and for 29% of our interns English is not their first language.

4. Remote internships that offer flexible participation options for those with physical or financial constraints
We launched our remote internship programs to enable people from anywhere in the world to gain overseas work experience from their laptops - without the expense and logistics of having to travel internationally.
- More affordable – no flights or overseas hosting required
- Flexible – part-time options enable those with other time commitments to participate
- Online format – enables participation from those who are disabled, have physical limitations, or are unable to leave home
- Immediate – interns can start their remote program as quickly as 1 week after applying

Intern Abroad HQ strictly adheres to a non-discrimination policy of not denying any person access to, or participation in or the benefits of, or be discriminated against in any service, program, course or facility on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, ancestry, disability, pregnancy, marital or parental status, physical condition or developmental disability. Participants will only be advised against participating in an internship program if it poses a risk to their safety as a result of local cultural attitudes or if the physical environment and/or program activities are not suitable for the participant based on the information they have provided to us.
The participant agrees to abide by this non-discrimination policy and accepts that any evidence of discrimination by the participant in any form will result in instant dismissal from the program with no refund.
